2014 was quite a year for the Patrick Henry Community College family. While we suffered through the loss of colleagues and one of PHCC’s long-time supporters, Mr. Shelton Scales, 2014 also was a time to heal and look forward to a bright future at our college.
Our foundation is a big part of that future. In the 2013-2014 fiscal year, we were able to raise more than $1.6 million in cash, $46,359 for in-kind gifts, and $90,390 in pledges. A total of 279 first time donors made financial gifts to the college in 2014. We also awarded $588,609 in scholarships.
Our success is a testament to each of you and your commitment to excellence at PHCC.
I want to thank all of our supporters for their hard work and dedication to our college and the community. I also want to thank our 2014 outgoing PHCC Foundation Board officers for their leadership, and our new leaders in 2015 for generously giving their time and expertise to the board. This group of individuals believes in the college, the value of education, and the collective mission to help students gain access to an affordable and quality education.
Our future goals are to continue to reach new donors and generate unrestricted funds for growth opportunities, while solidifying our endowed scholarships. I look forward to all we will accomplish throughout 2015.
