The Patrick County Education Foundation (PCEF) announced the official launch of the Patrick Promise this afternoon. Formed in 2001, the organization has worked since 2019 to raise funds to support Patrick County High School (PCHS) seniors in attending Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) for up to 2.5 years following high school graduation at no cost to the student or his/her family.
“We are thrilled to announce this important opportunity for Patrick County students today. PCEF’s diligence to provide the funds to ensure that Patrick County students have the same opportunity as their counterparts in Martinsville-Henry County have with the SEED Fund has been unwavering and it is our honor to celebrate this milestone in their fundraising journey,” said P&HCC President Dr. Greg Hodges.
Current Patrick Promise funds are expected to support students over the next three years. “While this is certainly a celebration of years of fundraising, our work is far from done. It is critical that we continue to build the endowment that supports the Promise so that students have access to this opportunity for years to come,” said PCEF chairman Dr. Stewart Roberson.
